Our client wanted to take a tired and dated farm workers cottage in rural Aberdeenshire and convert it to create a bespoke home suitable for short stay holiday lets.

The proposals strip back the cottage to its original masonry walls. The cottage is then to be reconfigured internally and fully refurbished to 21st century standards of construction and energy performance. A new build rear extension that reflects the traditional form of the cottage and surrounding buildings is to be constructed, providing open plan living and dining space and focusing views to the South and West.
