Our client wanted to build a modern family home in rural Aberdeenshire, that took full advantage of the stunning landscapes that surround the site.
The house is traditional in its form, reflective of the surrounding vernacular Architecture. However through contemporary detailing and a carefully selected palette of materials; stone, timber, render and large areas of glazing, the house has been given a contemporary feel.
The layout of the home is centered around a formal entrance hall, which splits the ‘public’ and ‘private’ parts of the property. To the living areas there is a mix between an open plan kitchen/living/dining and separate areas such as a family snug, study and bedrooms.
The house achieved planning approval with no objections raised and Building Warrant was closed out shortly after. The works were completed in early 2022.
